Here is Pop's LCIII, as restored in 2007.

  • The ethernet expansion card was purchased secondhand in 2007, but was never used. The first photo shows the original expansion board which housed an IC. (FPU ? Processor upgrade ? not sure).
  • The SCSI hard drive didn't work, and was replaced with a Yamaha V769970 SCSI -> IDE converter, which was then connected to some CompactFlash.
  • This LCIII was potentially upgraded to another model, or was actually an LCIII+. The motherboard is slightly different to the vanilla LCIII. Look at the 2nd photo, in the corner where the RAM and VRAM slots meet there are some unpopulated IC pads. See the photo below for a standard LCIII: (and yes - those dodgy green wires are from the Apple factory):

(Apologies for the above crap photo - I shall replace with something respectable soon).

I make no apologies for the quality of the next photo. This photo found its way underneath the Brisbane river, as with the LCIII. Many photos were recovered, but the LCIII is probably still at the bottom of Moreton Bay.
Also present: IBM 5170 (Not pictured, but you can see the EGA monitor, 84-key PC/AT Keyboard and Genius mouse (Genius mouse-pad under the Apple mouse).
